One IT security risk One IT security risk is the threat of attack or the potential to be attacked with the main purpose of getting or steal something important.  In this area, typical attack channels are: an immediate contingent on the information systems, infrastructures or personnel of the attacked object; media containing malicious software; computer remote networks.
