One IT security risk One IT security risk is the threat of attack or the potential to be attacked with the main purpose of getting or steal something important.  In this area, typical attack channels are: an immediate contingent on the information systems, infrastructures or personnel of the attacked object; media containing malicious software; computer remote networks. The following groups of people can be considered as risk factors: authorized users of information systems; different types of agents and stakeholders; hackers or people involved in hacktivism. It is wise to use the "Mitnick formula" to mitigate the risks.
